Day 12 (Lake Louise to Jasper/Hinton)

This was one of most scenic days...peaks and valleys, glaciers, and bighorn sheep.  Fun day!

On our way out of town we stopped to gas up and met Andy at the gas station.  He was having some clutch issues with his bike, but that didn't stop him from wanting to visit with us.  He had just pulled off the highway, had been riding with a pack of American bikers, who were heading west from Calgary.  He told us he loved using Americans as 'Guinea Pigs' (Rabbits to us), because Americans love to go fast...

The next couple pics are a taste of the scenery we saw that day...

Wally enjoying the views as well...

Ride the World!

Incredible views!

Roads that run through the valleys...

More waterfalls...

Then we happened across this, a group of glaciers...

But this one appeared to have a parking lot in front of it...

So we pulled in, parked, and walked...and walked...and walked...

Here's a view as we get closer...

Almost there...

This makes you think twice about where you are stepping...

Finally there...

Water running along the base of the glacier...

Yep, standing on a glacier...

Working my way up the glacier and water viens running down...

Yes, it's COLD!

Veiw down the glacier...

I was here!

So after he glacier, we were on the road again, more waterfalls...

Then we came up on an area where a number of cars were pulled to the side of the road, people were out of their cars, looking up the side of a mountain...we saw these...Mountain Sheep or Goats, we're not quite sure yet...

Wally had a full day today, now off to Jasper...

Long story, but we ended up an hour east of Jasper, in a KOA, in the rain.  The town of Hinton, BC was 4 miles away and with the rain, we weren't heading there.  So we prepared a gourmet meal from what the KOA store had to offer...beans and weinies...pared with a nice Malbec :-))
