Day 26 (Port Angeles, WA to Florence, OR)

After spending 2 days relaxing and sightseeing my friends, Annie & Wade, it was time to move on.
Here's Wade in front of his home, beautiful deck in the back, with killer views of the ocean!  Goodbye Annie & Wade and many thanks for hosting me!  PS...Annie, the super glue worked!!!

The morning ride started off chilly (low 50's), clouds hanging low in the mountains...

...but once the sun made it's full time appearance, the temps quickly climbed into the mid 60's, which is perfect for riding!

Here's a pic of the forest being cleared by a lumber company.  I wish I could have taken a pic of what an area that's been cleared looks like...it is depressing.  The difference between California and Oregon, is that California requires a 'buffer zone' between the cleared area and any roads, so that the cleared area is 'hidden' from view.  In Oregon there is no such requirement and as a result, it's an 'in your face' ugliness...some of these areas look like a wasteland :-((

One of the memories I'll take away from Oregon, is it's lakes.  They are abundant and beautiful!

Lakes around every turn...

I passed through Forks, WA...don't blink, but it is evidently where Twilight is/was filmed.  Here is the obligatory tourist pic of a Twilight souvenir shop...

The 101 hits the Washington coast and I'm treated to this...Ruby Beach. Awesome view and eagles soaring in the trees.  They are majestic and HUGE!  Thank God Ben Franklin did not get his way, as the eagle is a much better representation of our country, than a turkey...

In the distance is a bridge, don't recall the name, but it is a looooooong bridge.  It goes all the way from the left of this pic to the right of this pic...

A little closer view of the bridge, just to the middle/right in the pic, is where it climbs higher, allowing the large ships to pass underneath...

On the bridge, climbing to the apex, it's up there!  Ship passing underneath was pretty neat!

View behind me gives you a perspective of how long this thing is!

More Oregon coastline...

Like Cali, the 101, hugs the Oregon coastline, making for a great ride with views...

Wish I had time to stop here, old blimp hanger, converted to an air museum.  Found out later that there's some great stuff in there, that you can climb into.  Pretty cool to be able to sit in the cockpit of some vintage aircraft!

Passing by...I needed to get to Eureka, to meet Gil & Becky!
